I figured I'd throw this together because the site is getting a lot of traffic now.. and I don't know who feels like flipping through 9 pages of posts. So, here is a condensed list of questions. Sorry, some may repeat, but I tried my best! If you have a question, reply to this thread, or the other thread, and I or someone else will add it to the list! Make sure to check here to see if your questions has already been asked/answered. Smile

A Message from the Head Lady Person...... girl... we all Know and love..... known as... SKYE!

Skye wrote:
First I have to tell you that the answer to most of our questions today was:

"we can't talk about it at this time...." LOL

Not only that we were NOT allowed to play test the game because it's not ready for play-testing yet. However we were given 4 different demos of the game and I can answer and tell you about a few things...

Skye wrote:
They did not allow us to take pics of the game Sad.

___________________________________________________

For Skye:
-Do you think it will be worth it?
-Are you allowed to take photos?
Skye wrote:
You mean at EA? Yes:) I was there last month to review Apartment Life and photos were allowed although they keep us so busy there's not a lot of time for them. I'll see what I can do...Wink

-Will you get to see the game yourself or will they just talk to you about it?
Skye wrote:
We will get to play-test it... I believe. At least the version they have ready now which will most likely not be complete.

-Will you give us a report?
Skye wrote:
I will be taking tons of in-game pictures and writing a review in the coming days...Smile

-How do I access this live blog?
Skye wrote:
Tomorrow as far as I know this will be the live blog. I will be here to answer questions while I am at EA and can ask the Maxoids the answers to any questions that I can't answer myself. So check in here tomorrow and I'll let you all know when I am available to answer your questions.

-How AWESOME is the game?
Skye wrote:
They didn't want to go into specifics about the surprises in the game yet...however...We had a trivia contest here and out of the 20 fan-site people I won along with one other fan-site owner! I won a exclusive interview with the designers of the sims3 right before the game ships so I will have all the scoop! lol.

-Did you meet anyone?
Skye wrote:
Maxoids, and Tim La Tourneau dropped by our table for lunch, so we got to talk to him.

-Did you get to see an actual preview?
Skye wrote:
Yes the demos were previews led by the team. They took us into the game and showed us the neighborhood, the sims and some interactions and explained gameplay. They took us into the CAS screen and explained everything. We weren't allowed to actually have hands-on yet with it because it's not really ready for that yet.

SIMS:
-Are toddlers going to be able to go with you around town?
-What is CAS like?
Skye wrote:
As for CAS everything you have now is on a slider, eyes, chin, body, muscle. Skin tones go from pale to green on a slider or a preset. It is much more customizable. Please keep in mind that this game is far from complete we did not see the final product today...

-Will there be body sliders more advanced?
Skye wrote:
Some things about cas that are cool...Everything on the cas screen is completely custom...they have sliders and color charts so you can totally pick colors of everything. and the shapes and sizes of the sims are on a slider also so everything is much more individual.

-How much time will it take the sims to age?
Skye wrote:
I believe the sim days and aging are the same as in the Sims2. However with the new age category you will have your sims live longer.

-What are the Sim Age Stages?
Skye wrote:
They added an age so there are 7 ages. They now have young Adult and adult.

-How long are the individual stages?
Skye wrote:
I believe the sims life stages are the same length...they didn't really say they weren't.

-How alike will the growing up process and pregnancy be to The Sims 2?
-How does pregnancy and birthing work?
Skye wrote:
I believe they will have some new animations but it's about the same as in Sims2.

-Will sims speak Simlish?
Skye wrote:
Yes, and You will be able to change the pitch of the sims voices and choose several different voice types.

-How many eye colors can we have? Can we change the shades of the eye color?
Skye wrote:
You can have an infinite number of eye colors using the slider.

-Will we be able to have almost any skin tone that we want?
Skye wrote:
yes! Smile

-Are infants and toddlers included?
Skye wrote:
of course.

-What are some new features of the new Create-a-Sim?
Skye wrote:
They have incorporated something called traits; There are over 70 different traits you can Choose for your sim. I will list some of them later...Smile The menu also has Moodlets that let you know the mood of your sim (exact mood) as the day wears on...Such as comfy, and why. You can create a totally evil sim for instance and then make her both evil and deceptive and a snob lol Sims will be able to choose fav music...food and color.

-How many traits can a sim have?
Skye wrote:
Babies will have 2 traits, children 3, teen 4, and all others 5.

-Do traits effect how your sims act and learn?
Skye wrote:
Yes traits effect how well a sim does in certain things...

-Will we be able to completely customize hairstyles in the game?
Skye wrote:
There is a way to choose 4 different hair colors on one sim. Tips, roots, base color and hi-lites.

-Will we be able to change shoes individually?
Skye wrote:
Yes, you can add shoes, socks, jewelry, gloves necklaces and earrings as categories on cas.

BUILD MODE:
-Is Build and Buy Mode are still in use? (Is it different with the no loading times?)
Skye wrote:
It's pretty much the same as of now, that could change.

-What are the build tools like?
Skye wrote:
Here are some of the cool build things...there is a placement tool that allows you to place objects on 1/4 square so you can center things without a cheat. There is also a tool that allows you to Place objects anywhere outside of the grid. There is a diagonal placement tool.

-Will we still be able to build without having sims on a lot?
Skye wrote:
Yes. Any objects you want to move you can drag and drop from one lot to another . You can also, if you start to build a lot and then decide it's not big enough, move the house to another lot!

-Will there be Round Walls?
Skye wrote:
No

-Will there be Vertical Half Walls?
Skye wrote:
Not sure

-Will deleting be easier?
Skye wrote:
Yes! One new cool feature is the ability to select by dragging a square over a whole area and then deleting....

-Will there be different roof pitches?
-Will you be able to place siding on a chimney?
Skye wrote:
Dunno lol

-Can we build split-level houses?
Skye wrote:
Not as of this moment but I requested it!

-Will there be different Lot Zones?
Skye wrote:
I assume so.

-Will we also be able to build stairs that turn, curve, or have landings?
Skye wrote:
Not sure about stairs but I'll ask the maxoids at dinner. But, You can adjust stair width....1,2,3,4+ squares.

-Will we be able to have an attic with sloped ceilings?
-Is there any water front lots?
Skye wrote:
Hi There, Yes, there is a beach and a cliff area and a river and cliff rocks and tons of new plants and trees. The neighborhood is quite lovely with lots of places to put houses. You can also customize it any way you want.

BUY MODE:
-Is there a grand piano?
Skye wrote:
Not sure, but could be added with an EP later Smile

-Are cars included?
Skye wrote:
There are cars and cabs and carports that you can place anywhere even on a diagonal but no closed garages. I have a feeling that they will add that stuff with EPS..

-What types of cars are there?
Skye wrote:
*Shrugs*

-Are tables and surfaces different?'
Skye wrote:
Well, you will be able to place multiple objects on surfaces....

-Anything else to add?
Skye wrote:
some objects like tables and chairs can be moved together as a unit. same with beds and nightstands.....

-Can you Request Reflective floors?
Skye wrote:
I can.

___________________________________________________

MOVIES:
-Are there Movie-Maker tools available?
-Will we be able to make our own animations?
-Is it going to be easier to create movies?
Skye wrote:
They said very little about the movie tools but seemed to suggest there would be some new ones.

___________________________________________________

CUSTOM CONTENT:
-Will it be easier to make CC? (Is there an in game tool?)
Skye wrote:
They didn't say so but there is a tool for CC withing the game. How intricate it will be they won't say right now... I tried bribery but they are a tough bunch lol.

-Will we be able to make custom meshes (Hair, Furni) easily?
Skye wrote:
"We can't talk about that now."

-Will we still be able to download CC from fan-sites still?
Skye wrote:
I assume so! I don't see why they wouldn't allow it.

-Will we be able to make custom eyes and hair?
Skye wrote:
I am sure you will be able to

-Will there be tool to create new neighborhoods?
Skye wrote:
I sure hope so! They wouldn't tell me if you can make custom neighborhoods but I suspect you can from some of the Maxoid Body language...

-Will there be a Sims3 Exchange?
Skye wrote:
There already is...sort of.

-Can we create our own walls, floors, terrain?
Skye wrote:
Hmm... I am sure we can!

GENERAL GAME PLAY:
-What is the main idea behind the game?
Skye wrote:
Interaction and more involved storytelling.

-Is there a long start-up loading time?
Skye wrote:
Initial load time is the same as Sims2, it depends onhow much CC you have in the game.

-Is there loading between switching families?
Skye wrote:
There is no loading between families. You can play one family then another but one at a time.

-Will there be any way to slow or turn of aging for specific sims while not affecting the whole town?
Skye wrote:
As I understand it the family you aren't playing still progresses so you can interact with it even tho you are playing another family.

-If another family of ours has a kid without us playing them, will the computer generate a random name for them?
Skye wrote:
*Shrugs* Remember, we didn't get to play test, and their answers were generic!

-Is there a household limit?
Skye wrote:
Yes, the standard 8..

-Will there be any supernatural creatures in sims 3?
Skye wrote:
There will be many new NPC'S, but they wouldn't give specifics. When we asked about new characters we got the usual: "We can't talk about that now". lol

-How much control do you have of your sims?
Skye wrote:
Same as you do now but they are smarter if you leave them alone.

-Will we be able to control our Sim's car when they're driving?
Skye wrote:
No... but you can follow them with the in game camera if you want.

-Will The Sims 3 expansion packs lead up to a whole Sim world?
Skye wrote:
I am sure they will.

-How do we control our Sim's walking?
Skye wrote:
Same as now

-What are some activities our Sims can do?
Skye wrote:
They woudn't say.

-Will we be able to follow the sims to school/work/kindergarten?
Skye wrote:
No... it's mostly like TS2.

-Will there be a college here?
Skye wrote:
Not sure... if not, it could be in a future EP.

-Any secret lots?
Skye wrote:
Not sure.

-Do we control one family like in the Sims 2, or do we control the "whole" neighborhood at once?
Skye wrote:
One family at a time....when you enter the neighborhood it is much larger than the usual sims2 neighborhood. all you do is zoom in on the house of the family you want to play and play it...there is no load in or out.

-Will all of the Sims2 cheats be part of the regular game play in the Sims 3?
Skye wrote:
many of the cheats will cross over.

-Will there be any sort of "online" game play?
Skye wrote:
no online play plans that I know of....They just got rid of EA land...

-Will our Sims be able to hold an infant while sitting?
Skye wrote:
Don't know. Didn't get to test the game, but I am sure there will be more animations than ts2 Smile

-Will the infants still only have diapers for clothing?
Skye wrote:
dunno

-Are there any loading screens?
Skye wrote:
First, the game itself is really cool with no load times at all from one lot to another,

-Is the game one big neighborhood?
Skye wrote:
There is a huge neighborhood and all you do is go from one house to another...

-Is Gameplay similar to TheSims2?
Skye wrote:
One new thing is they have added difficulty levels...You can now play the game at different levels..

-Will you be able to turn Difficulty Levels "off"?
Skye wrote:
not sure about that Danny, Difficulty levels...

___________________________________________________

TECHNICAL ASPECTS:
-What are the system specifications?
Skye wrote:
They do not have final info on the specs but they did say they are trying to keep it as mainstream as possible...

-Will the game have the 3 computer install "Secu-rom"?
-Is the whole rumour about the install limit true?
-What is the gamespeed like?
Skye wrote:
The game speed has to do with how much you have in the neighborhood and your computer.

___________________________________________________

FROM PREVIOUS (Ts2, Ts1):
-Is there a release date yet?
Skye wrote:
All they will say about the release date is 2009...They will give us more info as time goes on tho....

-Do they have a Sims3 theme yet?
Skye wrote:
NO theme yet

-Are pets included in the base game?
-Is there gonna be like superstars, pets, vacations, creatures, etc. from older EPs?
-Are there still going to be stuff packs?
-Are they already planning The Sims 4?
-Is there going to be weather in the Sims 3?
Skye wrote:
They refused to answer about the weather but I get the feeling that many things will be added in EP's rather than the base game. Personally I feel this is a mistake but I imagine it's a marketing ploy.

-Will cheats be added in with Expansions?
Skye wrote:
They told me that the current cheats, most of them, will be available in the Sims3...plus new ones

-Will Boolprop be there?
Skye wrote:
I am sure the boolprop cheats will still be there except for the ones no longer needed.

-Will we be able to import our old sims into the Sims3?
-Will there be Future EP's?

Kudos to you, Danny for doing this. After Skye's exhausting day yesterday, I'm sure she just didn't have the strength!

I, among a multitude of others, will be checking back periodically throughout the day for the answers from Skye! Very Happy
